Canada has two main driving under the influence laws or offences they are impaired operation law and the over eighty law. The first law is for operating a vehicle while being under the influence of alcohol and the second means that you where operating a vehicle with more than eighty milligrams of alcohol in your blood stream. With these two laws there comes two different kinds of punishment, Canada has different names for these but basically on charge is like receiving a felony in the united states and the other is like receiving a misdemeanor.
